Brechin Cathedral and Round TowerThis beautiful, ancient building gives Brechin the proud right to city status and has been at the centre of the city's community for hundreds of years. The building of the cathedral was the catalyst to the growth of a small town immediately to the north which flourished, hosting weekly markets. The impressive Pictish Round tower adjoining the cathedral is about 1000 years old and is one of only two left in Scotland. Glamis CastleA wonderful day out is to be had at Glamis Castle, 15 miles or so from Brechin and well worth the trip.
